I painted this baritone horn for its rounded form and supportive voice. Honey tones give it warmth, weight, and a little glow.
I photographed the source instrument at VMEA in 2025 because I love hunting for shiny brass at those tables. I built the color with undersea green, then I sparked it with nickel azo yellow so the pigments break and shimmer instead of behaving politely.
I drew this by hand and painted it in watercolor. The original watercolor is available. It measures approximately 8″ x 9″ on 300 lb Arches hot press paper and includes a certificate of authenticity. Prints ship unframed.
A great gift for brass players and band rooms.
Part of my music series, focused on form, color, and sound.
