In November 2025, I returned to the VMEA Conference in Norfolk as the only watercolor artist exhibiting. The gathering is meaningful to me through my husband’s work in music education, and it was a pleasure to spend the weekend with educators, performers, and fellow music advocates from across Virginia.
I brought work from my music series, including prints inspired by the instruments, details, and players that shape my studio practice. The response was generous. Over the course of the conference, I sold more than 100 prints and nearly sold through my String and Orchestra print basket.
The weekend was about more than the booth. I heard stories from teachers and musicians, spent time in Norfolk, and joined the VMEA group for the Norfolk Harbor Race 5K. I came home grateful for the conversations and ready to restock prints for the holidays.
